Basic Knitting
Learn the two basic stitches of knitting. All advanced knitting stitches are derived from the knit stitch and the purl stitch.
2 hour class where you will learn how to cast on and the knit stitch and the purl stitch. You make a swatch that could become a wash cloth of scarf depending on if you like knitting once you take the class.
The most important skill you will learn is how to manipulate knitting needles and your yarn without dropping stitches off your needles.
Note: This is also a great class if you already know how to knit but want to learn to throw (english) when you already pick (continental) or learn to pick (continental) when you throw (english). Being able to do both is great if you do colorwork. Using both methods allows you to hold a different colored yarn in either hand.

Double Knitting
Double knitting is a colorwork technique that allows you to make a two layer reversible garment.
This technique uses two yarns that have high contrast colors and a simple pattern (knit 1 purl 1) that is repeated for the entire pattern. The cast on, increases and decreases are slightly more complicated due to handling two yarns. This techniques requires the ability to follow a chart for the color work.
Class cost: $25/hr x 2 hr = $50
